The OS Ladder is a thinking tool created by Mark C Winters, first used in June 2025. This tool describes the relationship between four distinct types of operating systems that are relevant for visionary entrepreneurs. The sequence begins with your individual perspective, and each added rung brings more depth, ultimately capturing your overall perspective on the business. To climb the “OS Ladder,” you’ll need to have something in place for each rung. To recap, with an example of each: 1. Individual OS: The 9 Domains of Freedom (Get your BONUS Mini-Book on Exponential Freedom via the Resource Page) 2. Visionary OS: The 10 Pillars (the focus of this book) 3. V/I Duo OS: The 5 Rules (a focus of Rocket Fuel) 4. Business OS: EOS (the focus of Traction) The approach of operating from the individual perspective first, leading toward the business perspective, it is essential to keep the visionary entrepreneur in control of the direction. This is being intentional about how the business serves your individual interests. The much more common and somewhat dangerous approach is to do the reverse, starting with the business and not dealing with the individual until the end. This tends to create a much more limited (and constrained) set of opportunities for the individual.
