A thinking tool created by Mark C Winters, first used in 2019. The tool illustrates how different types of leaders, specifically Visionaries and Integrators, think very differently. Visionaries tend to enjoy divergent thinking, exploring all the ideas and possibilities. On the other hand, integrators are driven toward convergent thinking, where they narrow all the possibilities down to a singular focus. For both of these types of leaders, the other approach feels unnatural and can be highly frustrating. However, it is through this combination that creativity becomes joined with execution. Ideas are made real. Things happen. And value is created. By making this dynamic visible, each party can begin to understand and appreciate that the other has a valuable role to play in the process.
